Harburg-Freudenberger: Change of corporate name finalized

At the end of May 2005, the change of the corporate name for the company Harburg-Freudenberger Maschinenbau GmbH was finalized. The former subsidiary ThyssenKrupp Elastomertechnik GmbH of ThyssenKrupp Technologies AG was taken over by L. Possehl & Co. mbH in Lübeck in March of this year.

The takeover of the company made it necessary to change the corporate name. “With our new name we are expressing both our tradition and our strong bond with our German locations”, says the chairman of the board of management, Frank Horch. “Our customers can continue to rely on the high quality and innovative technology developed in our works worldwide”.

In the last financial year 2003/04, Harburg-Freudenberger recorded a sales volume of 150 million Euro and employed 1050 worldwide. The high-tech company supplies equipment and machinery for the rubber and tire industry as well as for the production of edible oil and fats of vegetable origin. Harburg- Freudenberger’s locations in Germany are in Hamburg-Harburg and in Freudenberg in the Siegerland region. The company has further production sites in Belisce / Croatia and in Topeka, Kansas/USA, as well as sales offices in Akron, Ohio/USA and in La Courneuve near Paris (France).

The Lübeck-based Possehl group is a group of companies with diversified activities worldwide in the areas of production, trade and services. The small and medium-sized companies of the Possehl group operate on a decentralized basis with a maximum amount of personal managerial responsibilities. With a workforce of 4700 they reach an annual turnover of about 850 million Euro.
