Edible Oil Technology Division appoints new sales director

Patrick Walczak aims to intensify global sales activities

Hamburg-Harburg – Patrick Walczak is the new sales director at the booming Edible Oil Technology Division of Hamburg-based machine manufacturer Harburg-Freudenberger. Aged 33 with a degree in commerce, Walczak was previously employed at a subsidiary of the Körber Group, latterly as Area Sales Manager responsible for paper processing machinery sales in East and West Europe.

Meeting the demands of the marketplace
Now at Harburg-Freudenberger, Patrick Walczak is taking charge of global vegetable oil production plant and machinery sales. One of his most urgent tasks is to step up sales activities in line with the increased demand for machines capable of producing crude oils for the bio-diesel industry. Harburg-Freudenberger is the world market leader in screw presses, the key technology in the production of plant-based energy resources. To match the current boom in orders, sales activities are being expanded still further in Eastern Europe, North, Central and South America and Africa. Walczak also plans to introduce key account management in order to enhance customer
service and share ideas and experiences with a view to optimizing both processes and products.

As one boom fades the next begins
Strategic plans are already being prepared for the future after the bio-diesel boom. One important element is to develop additional new markets for screw-press technology. Some initial projects have already been successfully launched in the waste treatment and chemical industries. Here too, Walczak is working to ensure that Harburg-Freudenberger becomes the established technology and market leader.

Patrick Walczak prefers to devote what little spare time he has left to his family. When time permits he also enjoys playing football and reading about Eastern European history.
